Choose the right way to receive email

A work email, a shared test inbox,
or a fresh address for every run?

Teams use all three approaches, each for different situations. Choose based on how long you need to keep the test email, and you’ll usually get it right.

Work or personal email

Best for
Important accounts you need to keep, and final real-world checks before launch.
Not ideal for
Running dozens of signup tests a day: your inbox fills up with test emails, and it’s hard to tell which run each one belongs to.

Shared team test inbox

Best for
Teams that need to review test emails together and compare multiple send attempts.
Not ideal for
Parallel tests can mix up verification codes; if someone clears the inbox, it affects everyone.
Tempcase

One disposable address per run

Best for
Short-lived flows like signup, password reset, and OTP checks. Start every run with a clean inbox.
Not ideal for
Accounts that need email for more than 24 hours or situations where you need to reply—this inbox only receives email.

We do three things well

Built around the full lifecycle of a test run

From getting an address to waiting for the email and moving on. We spell out the trade-offs so you can decide if it’s right for you.

Page opened · Address generated

No signup or personal details required

An address, ready as soon as you open the page

No signup or login needed. Your address is ready when the page loads—copy it straight into a staging form.

Trade-off: The address isn't tied to your identity, which makes it useful for testing but unsuitable as a long-term contact address.

Auto-refreshing inbox, emails in seconds

Your inbox refreshes automatically, and new emails usually appear within seconds. If other services receive mail promptly but yours doesn’t, the issue is likely on the sending side.

Trade-off: We only receive email. We can help you work out which side has the issue, but we can’t resend or recover messages for you.

One address, one timeline

0h3h24h
Valid by defaultExtendable

3 hours by default, extendable

Most OTP tests take just a few minutes. For a full day of regression testing, extend the address—up to 24 hours total.

Trade-off: When it expires, the address and emails are deleted together and can’t be recovered. Don’t use it to register accounts you’ll need long term.

For email you need to keep

Email forwarding: create an alias
and forward messages to your real inbox

Disposable addresses last up to 24 hours. For test accounts or vendor notifications you need to keep, an alias is a better fit.

  • Passwordless login: Get a sign-in code at your real email address to access the dashboard—no password needed.
  • Your alias stays private: Recipients see only your alias, so you don’t have to share your real email address.
  • Forwarding only: Your alias forwards incoming email to your inbox; you can’t send email from it.

How it works

One OTP test run, four simple steps

Keep your test script as it is—just use a fresh email address for each run.

1

Copy the address

Open the homepage to generate a new address, then click “Copy” to put it on your clipboard.

2

Use it in staging

Paste it into a signup or password reset form and submit to trigger an email from your system.

3

Check your inbox

Your inbox refreshes automatically, and emails usually arrive within seconds. The message is rendered as HTML so you can check the template, too.

4

Use it and move on

For the next run, click “Get a new address” to start a new case. The old address and its emails are deleted when it expires.

Frequently asked questions

Know the limitations

Take a minute to see what this tool can and can’t do before you use it. It could save you a lot of troubleshooting time.

Read more testing tips on the blog

Can I send or reply to email from this address?

No. Temporary addresses receive email only, making them suitable for verification codes and transactional email.

Can I recover emails after the address expires?

No. The address and emails are deleted together when it expires and can’t be recovered. Save anything you need to keep before then.

How long does an address last? What’s the maximum extension?

Addresses are valid for 3 hours by default. You can extend them while they’re active, up to 24 hours total per address.

The code hasn’t arrived after several minutes. How can I tell where the problem is?

New emails usually appear within seconds. Try sending a test email to the same address from another service. If that arrives but yours doesn’t, check the sending system’s queue and configuration first. For step-by-step help, see Email delivery troubleshooting.

Can I use this for accounts I plan to keep?

No. Addresses last up to 24 hours, so you won’t receive password reset emails after they expire. For long-term accounts, use email forwarding to create an alias.

Does the reader show the email’s original HTML?

Yes. The message is rendered as HTML, so you can see exactly how your template looks in an inbox.
